This restaurant-quality salmon features our signature Honey Hot sauce that creates a beautiful caramelized glaze with the perfect balance of sweet honey and fiery heat. Quick enough for weeknight dinners, impressive enough for guests!
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin-on or skinless
- 1 tablespoon 55 Condiments All Purpose Seasoning
- 1/2 cup 55 Condiments Honey Hot Sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
Step 1: Season the Salmon
Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with All Purpose Seasoning. Let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
Step 2: Make the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together Honey Hot sauce, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Set aside half for serving; use the other half for glazing.
Step 3: Sear the Salmon
Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side up (or presentation side down) and sear for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip carefully.
Step 4: Glaze & Finish
Brush the seared side generously with Honey Hot glaze. Transfer skillet to a preheated 400°F (200°C) oven and bake for 6-8 minutes, or until salmon reaches your desired doneness (internal temp 125-130°F for medium).
Step 5: Serve
Remove from oven and brush with more glaze. Let rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with lime wedges and the reserved Honey Hot sauce on the side.
Chef's Tips
- Don't Overcook: Salmon continues cooking after you remove it from heat. Aim for slightly underdone for perfectly moist fish
- Crispy Skin: If using skin-on salmon, make sure the skin is completely dry before searing for maximum crispiness
- Heat Control: Our Honey Hot sauce has medium heat - perfect for most palates. For extra kick, add a dash of Hot55 Hot-Sauce
- No Oven? Cover the pan after flipping and cook on stovetop for 5-6 minutes on medium-low heat
Perfect Pairings
Serve your Honey Hot Glazed Salmon with:
- Steamed jasmine rice or coconut rice
- Roasted vegetables (asparagus, broccoli, or bok choy)
- Asian-style slaw with sesame dressing
- Extra Honey Hot sauce for dipping
Why This Recipe Works
Our Honey Hot sauce is made with real honey (not corn syrup) and authentic scotch bonnet and Thai chili peppers. The natural sugars in the honey caramelize beautifully on the salmon, creating a glossy, restaurant-quality glaze with complex sweet-spicy flavour.
